Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC, a listed technology company and Superbrand, has once again demonstrated its leadership in corporate excellence by receiving the ICSB National Award for Corporate Governance Excellence for the fifth consecutive time. Alongside this achievement, the company also secured the ICMAB Best Corporate Award for the fourth consecutive year, reaffirming its strong commitment to transparency, accountability, and ethical governance practices.
To mark these milestones, Walton organised a programme titled “Celebrating Corporate Award Achievements” at its corporate office in Bashundhara, Dhaka, on Saturday, 10 January 2026. The event was attended by Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank Dr Md Habibur Rahman as the chief guest and Chairman of the Investment Corporation of Bangladesh Professor Abu Ahmed as the special guest.
Vice-Chairman of Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC S M Ashraful Alam, Managing Director S M Mahbubul Alam, Deputy Managing Director and Company Secretary Md Rafiqul Islam FCS, and other senior officials were also present. Md Rafiqul Islam delivered the welcome address.
Congratulating Walton, Dr Md Habibur Rahman said the company is ahead of many global brands in terms of product quality, advanced technology, and affordability. He highlighted Walton’s significant contribution to the national economy by reducing import dependency and earning foreign currency through exports. He also expressed confidence that Walton would further strengthen its global footprint through AI- and IoT-based high-tech products.
Professor Abu Ahmed noted that Walton has transformed Bangladesh’s electronics market, proving the country’s capability to manufacture high-tech products. He emphasised the importance of supportive government policies and tax incentives for further growth.

Managing Director S M Mahbubul Alam stated that Walton maintains strict compliance across all operations and is recognised as a leading corporate governance practitioner in South Asia. He also highlighted Walton’s sustainability achievements, including LEED Platinum certification, clean energy initiatives, and plans for lithium-ion battery manufacturing.
The celebration concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony commemorating Walton’s continued excellence in corporate governance.
